For participants

Before you travel to Braga

What happens from the airport to the last day, what to bring and who to ask. For participants on an Erasmus+ internship with BragaMob.

Arrival and the first day

  1. We meet your group at the airport (Porto, Lisbon or Vigo) and drive to Braga.
  2. Check-in at the hotel or house.
  3. Orientation meeting: the programme, the rules and who to call. This is where you receive the number of the 24-hour emergency line.
  4. Tour of Braga: where the placements are, how to get there and where to eat.

Your internship

  • 6 hours a day, Monday to Friday (30 hours a week). The exact timetable is agreed with each company, with a lunch break.
  • Two people look after you: a tutor at the host company and a BragaMob coordinator, who meets the group after work, holds a weekly group meeting and visits the companies.
  • The working language is English; participants pick up basic Portuguese during the stay.
  • On the last day your company tutor assesses what you have learned. You receive the Europass Mobility and a Certificate of Attendance.
  • Internships are part of your training and are not paid.

Accommodation and meals

You stay in a 2, 3 or 4-star hotel in the centre of Braga (single, double or triple room with breakfast) or, for long mobilities, in a house with a shared kitchen and living room. Meals are full or half board with local partners and take your culture and dietary needs into account: tell your teacher about allergies or vegetarian or religious requirements before you travel.

Weekends

At the weekend there are cultural integration activities, without interrupting the placement: Braga, Guimarães, Porto, Viana do Castelo, Lisbon and Fátima, depending on the length of your stay.
