Who is the host organisation in an Erasmus+ VET internship?

The host organisation is the company where the student does the placement. BragaMob is the supporting organisation: we propose host companies in each student's field and take care of the logistics, the preparation and orientation, the local monitoring and the 24-hour line. BragaMob can also be the host organisation when the internship takes place in our own team. The decision is your school's, and the application and the reports stay with your school. Schools from 27 countries have worked with us since 2013. See the guide Who is the host organisation in an Erasmus+ internship?

Who is BragaMob?

BragaMob is the registered brand of AplicaProposta, Lda, a company founded in Braga, Portugal, in 2012 that has welcomed Erasmus+ participants since 2013. Its quality management system is certified to NP EN ISO 9001:2015 by SGS for support services to international mobility. Which internship fields are available?

More than 30 fields in nine sectors: hospitality & tourism, industry & mechanics, construction & architecture, ICT & creative media, business & commerce, health & social care, beauty & fashion, agriculture & environment, and sports & performing arts. For each participant we propose a host company in their field and level; your school confirms it. If a field is not listed, ask us. See the full catalogue.

Which services does BragaMob provide?

You choose the services you need: host company proposals, accommodation and meals, transfers and local transport, orientation and local monitoring, cultural integration activities and training courses. Your quote lists each service you choose. Every participant has a company tutor and a BragaMob mobility coordinator, and every group receives a 24-hour emergency line on arrival. Accommodation is in 2, 3 and 4-star hotels in the centre of Braga or, for long mobilities, in houses; meals are full or half board with local partners; transfers from Porto, Lisbon or Vigo airports and daily transport to the placements are by van or bus. Cultural integration activities are optional. Programmes and quotes are on request.

Is insurance included? No. Under Article 5 of the Erasmus+ grant agreement for VET traineeships, every participant must have adequate insurance before the mobility starts, arranged by the sending organisation or the participant: health insurance (the European Health Insurance Card covers basic care in Portugal; a complementary policy is recommended), liability insurance for damage the participant may cause at the workplace, and accident insurance for injuries at the workplace. The Learning Agreement records how each cover has been organised. Tell us which policies your school uses and we will check that the host company's requirements are met.

How long can an internship be?

From 10 days to 1 year, at any time of the year. Groups usually stay 2 to 5 weeks; individual placements up to about 10 weeks. BragaMob works with organised groups and with individual students or graduates. Participants under 18 are accepted when the group travels with a responsible teacher from the sending school. Placements run 6 hours a day, Monday to Friday (30 hours a week). The exact timetable is agreed with each company, with a lunch break. The working language is English; participants pick up basic Portuguese during the stay. Internships are part of the training and are not paid. The busiest months are March to May and October; August is the quietest, so late requests have more chance then.

Which documents are there, and who signs them?

Who signs each document, and when. Before travel: the service agreement, a written agreement setting out our tasks, signed by your school and BragaMob; the Learning Agreement, signed by the participant, your school and the host company, with BragaMob coordinating the company's part. On the last day, after a theoretical and practical assessment by the company tutor: the Europass Mobility, issued by your school and completed with the host company, with BragaMob coordinating the signatures, and the Certificate of Attendance, issued by BragaMob. After return: the Final Report of the mobility in Braga, made by BragaMob, with the dates, the accommodation, the companies and tasks and the cultural activities, as evidence for your school. The Erasmus+ final report in the Beneficiary Module is written by your school. See Documents: who signs what.

How do we request a proposal?

Tell us the fields, the number of participants and the dates, on the Request a proposal page or by email to info@bragamobilityopen.com. The team that will run your mobility replies with a written programme and a quote. Then your school approves the programme, we propose a host company in each participant's field and your school confirms it, the service agreement and the Learning Agreement are signed, and the team meets your group at the airport.
