Effective communication on school dropout prevention

A five-day course on communication in school as a way to keep students engaged: between teachers and students, among colleagues and with families. It works on professional boundaries, active listening, body language and cultural misunderstandings, with theatre workshops and professional visits to a school, a teachers’ association and a school psychologist.

  • Professional boundaries: benefits and how to manage them
  • Setting limits in the classroom and your own boundaries as a teacher
  • Barriers to effective communication; body language; when students do not listen
  • Workshop: listen first
  • Professional visit to a teachers' association
Day 3Active listening
  • Understanding the whole picture of a classroom
  • Being an active listener; reflective listening and feelings
  • Types of questions in the classroom
