A five-day course on Education 4.0, the response of education to the fourth industrial revolution, where people and technology work together. It covers the 21st-century learner and teacher, the digital turn in schools, digital competences, personalised and flexible learning and project-based learning, and ends with a plan to bring the model to your own school.

Introductory meeting: practical arrangements, timetable and venue

Day 2E-learning and the digital turn

The digital turn in schools and the role of school leaders; research on digital innovation with tablets
Upgrading the school's digital infrastructure and a school-wide digital safety policy
Successful school-level digital innovations from other countries
Innovative tablet learning scenarios; creating, managing and licensing digital resources
Teacher training and game-based learning
Change management: supporting teachers, involving parents and the community; monitoring and communicating results

Day 3Digital education and personalised learning

Digital competence in school curricula: competence areas, learning outcomes and the eight key competences
Developing and supporting teachers' digital competences
Assessing and certifying digital competences, in the classroom and in national tests
Digital education strategies, monitoring and implementation
Personalised learning: communication, flexible content and self-pacing
Learning management systems (LMS) and choice-based assessment

Day 4Learning flexibility and project-based learning

Personalised learning: definition, reasons and how to start in the classroom
Curriculum, digital content, tools and technology; communicating and measuring success
What project-based learning is and how to implement it in class
Activities, media and technology in project-based learning
Assessing projects with rubrics

Day 5Final workshop

Final workshop: implementing the Education 4.0 model in your school
